At FONGIT (Fondation Genevoise pour l’Innovation Technologique), we support entrepreneurs with the expertise, resources and financing they need in transforming innovative ideas into sustainable Swiss companies.

Established in 1991, we are a private, non-profit foundation supported by the State of Geneva. Our mission is to de-risk the entrepreneurial journey, transforming innovation into economic and social value.

We currently support over 200 Swiss startups across ICT, Advanced Engineering, and Life Sciences. Collectively, these startups have raised more than CHF 1 billion in financing.

Our tailored programs offer targeted coaching, office space, administrative and legal support, as well as guidance on governance and financing. We also foster connections within a vibrant community of innovators and regularly host events and workshops.

FONGIT is a state-supported foundation with limited resources, so we prioritize projects already based in the State of Geneva. If you're not currently located here, we can support you in establishing your company in Geneva. However, all relocation costs must be covered by your company.

FONGIT provides two instruments:

Our Startup Support has three stages: Innovation Initiation, Initial Support and Full Support. Our program is designed to accelerate innovations at all stages of maturity: from early-stage projects that need shaping and de-risking before deciding to launch the startup to more advanced, deep-tech projects where the company is ready for foundation, or is already founded.

The FONGIT Innovation Fund (FIF), which provides three types of financing tools: FIF Grant, FIF Seed and FIF Growth, to help innovative startups at various stages of their development.
